For more than five decades, 654 Madison Avenue in Manhattan's famed Plaza District has been owned, occupied and operated by a partnership of N. Anthony Rolfe of the Rolfe Group and Robert Liberman of The Adler Group.
The site of the now 22-story structure originally housed a two-story bank branch for Guaranteed Trust Company that was demolished when the current building was erected in1927. By the time the property was acquired by the current ownership three decades hence, Morgan Guaranty had replaced the original bank as the retail tenant on the northwest corner of 60th Street.
The prominent flagship location, an important nexus along the Madison Avenue retail corridor, is currently home to Calvin Klein, which renovated the entire 25,000-square-foot banking unit in the 1990s.
